LOCAL PARTNERS

Our Connections Matter!

See who we connect with in our local community Partners. These amazing organisations support our mission and vision of serving Ōmokoroa with the love of Christ. Thank you to our Partners for making a difference in our community by their selfless generosity and services!

Mission Partners

We are proud to be supporting our Mission Partners as they participate in God's mission in amazing ways. Taking on the mantle of being the bearers of the good news of Christ. However, due to some * information being sensitive there may be little to no description regarding their journey.

As a church we enter into partnership with other churches and individuals to support and encourage those who are called to serve in amazing ways both here in NZ and overseas. The partners and missionaries we currently support with prayer and finances are below.

Contact Val Munro (Missions Coordinator) on 021 0299 4291 for more information about the Missions programmes OCC supports.

Juli & Erjola Celas Mission

Julian and Erjola Cela, with their children Joel* & Jora* are working with the Evangelical Church of Tirana, Albania. Here they are leading Bible Studies, organising youth camps, couples’ retreats, outreach meetings, discipling believers, organising meal trains for sick people, visiting in the hospital and homes. Juli, who has prosthetic legs, is also developing a football team for amputees.

Colin and Tania established a Goat Project and Pass On Scheme in Rural South Asia. Now living in New Zealand, Colin and Tania support 'Pastor B' and his wife 'Nurse A' (the new overseers of the project) as they manage the team working on the farm with the goats, and now also developing dairy farming, along with their pastoral and medical ministries in the local villages. * Colin and Tania have video meetings with Pastor B and Nurse A every week and return to visit the work at least once a year (names protected for security reasons).

Every year Samaritans Purse coordinate the Operation Christmas Child program to provide boxes for people to fill with gifts for children in third world countries. We encourage our church members and the community to get involved with this wonderful opportunity to give.

Our wonderful Pastor Matthew Needham is a gifted and talented evangelist with a passion for seeing lives radically changed for Jesus. It is our privilege to not only have a pastor with such a passion, but also that we can support his evangelistic mission not just here in Ōmokoroa but overseas too. Matthew has a particular heart for the people of India and the Pacific Islands - having spent much time in these locations.

Cool Bananas Youthwork Trust aims to 'Inspire generations of Children in Aotearoa, New Zealand to thrive’. We create motivational content and programmes for our tamariki, that promote positive values, encouraging hauora (emotional, mental, social, physical, and spiritual well-being).

The initiatives we have developed span digital environments across our country, providing tools that help thousands of kids successfully navigate life’s challenges. By inspiring young generations to thrive, our work contributes to building strong healthy communities, now, and into the future.

To provide safe, professional, empowering programmes for children that encourage standards and values from a Christian perspective.

Four times a year a 'Prayer Fuel' leaflet is produced giving updates of information, photos, points of praise and prayer requests from each of our mission partners to enable the congregation to be involved in more meaningful prayer and support.

Val Munro is our lead hand on this. Contact her to learn more.
